ANIMAL IMPOUNDS
Effective April 6, 2009
Listen to KBRX Radio 102.9 FM for current listing of animal impounds
We encourage dog owners to keep a current rabies vaccination certificate on file with the O'Neill Police Department and have the rabies tag affixed to the dog's collar. The rabies tag number will enable officers to identify the dog and contact the owner to pickup the dog, avoiding impound fees as stated above.
Claiming your dog from Impound:
1. - The impound fee of $160.00 (1st Offense) per animal must be paid at the O'Neill Police Department.
2. - You will be issued a receipt which must be presented at the Holt County Animal Shelter, located at 500 South Logan, O'Neill, Nebraska, when picking up your dog.
*** IF THE OWNER OF AN IMPOUNDED ANIMAL DOES NOT CLAIM THE DOG AFTER 5 BUSINESS DAYS,
(EXCLUDING WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS) THE DOG WILL BECOME PROPERTY OF THE HOLT COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER
